I’m Father Tony, the Pastor of Saint Joan of Arc, and because you have clicked the “New Here” button, I assume you might need a little more information about us and where we are going. We try to always point to a deeper life with God through Jesus Christ. Just what does that mean? Well, instead of a cut and dry answer we invite you to come along with us and discover for yourself what a life in Christ looks like. It is really just a few steps away.
But first, a disclaimer: We are a growing parish of imperfect followers of Jesus, we may not be high tech, have the best music, or the coolest kid’s world but what we do have are hearts touched by His love and they are open to you. (The other things will happen all in God’s good time!)
First Steps
Come worship with us! Every Sunday I am happy to meet with you right after our 12:15pm service. Just come right up to me I always have time to talk! It’s just a brief conversation (20 to 25 minutes) about what led you to Saint Joan of Arc, what’s your spiritual outlook for you, and what you hope to find by becoming involved at Saint Joan’s. Finding a church home can feel like a shot in the dark. Our hope with these First Steps is to alleviate some of that darkness so you can see if Saint Joan’s may be that place of home for you.
Grow in Faith
If you are ready to go deeper or find out more about following Jesus and the Christian faith, or how we live out our faith at Saint Joan’s you have a few options. The best place to start is our one evening membership class which is currently scheduled as needed. (Check our calendar for the next one.) Or if the Christian faith is new to you or if you are seeking a deeper, renewed faith I would encourage you to sign up for our Catechumenate program which will prepare you for the Sacraments of Initiation, (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation) or will update any missed Sacraments from your childhood or jumpstart your faith and help you to find out what it means to be a 21st century Christian. Of course, attending our monthly Sunday adult education is always a great place to start!
Small Groups
We realize faith isn’t about who you know, what you know, or even what you believe. Our faith in Christ is a lived faith. Living our Christian faith is best shared with others seeking a deeper and transformed life in Christ, this is a faith of action. Beginning in the fall of 2018 we will begin the journey into Small Groups as a way of growing our faith and growing our community. Small groups will be an important step in yours and our faith development! Groups will focus on many topics and will take many different shapes but will be centered on a few core values: members of each group will read and reflect on Scripture together, we pray with and for one another, support each other in faith, and seek out opportunities to serve neighbors and the community in need.
I am so glad you clicked on the “New Here” button! I am even more excited about what a life of faith might mean for you and your family. You are always welcome here and I look forward to exploring our faith together!
